The Global Styler: Thankful Tree

Good morning! It’s the first Monday in November. This means Global Styler time with Up to Date Interiors, The Boho Abode and Casa Watkins Living. The holidays are quickly approaching so we’re talking about tips and tricks for entertaining. *this post contains affiliate links. A small (really small) portion of a sale from a link I provide goes back to me. Thanks for supporting my Hobby Lobby loving habits.

Now, I’m not really into elaborate tablescapes (because I just don’t have the eye for them) or creating 27 ingredient meals (because I don’t have the patience for them) but I thought I’d give you a little something sweet to do with your family and those who’ll come through you house this fall. A thankful tree! Now I’m sure you’ve seen them but this one might have a little different spin.

It took me about 2 minutes to gather the supplies for this project. I already had these tiny clothes pins of hard but you can find them here. Or use twine. I used the small price tags for another project. Those can be found here. Or use cut paper. This doesn’t have to cost an extra cent.

I stuck it all in a little woven basket with a pen and pencil.

You’ll need a vase. I thrifted this brass one a couple years ago. And a couple of smaller scale branches from the yard.   For our dining room shopping sources see the full reveal here.

Then just write the things that you’re thankful for as you think of them. It’s a great practice for us ALL but we love to remind our kids to be grateful so this is a perfect exercise for them.

It’s a fun and tangible way to remember all of our blessings.

How am I turning this in to an idea for entertaining, you ask? I think it would be so fun to display this on an entryway table or on a mantel and through the month, ask guests that come to your home to fill out a card or two also. Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving, play dates, bible studies etc. Whenever you have people over, ask them to add something to the tree. Then it could turn into such a simple and pretty centerpiece for your Thanksgiving day table.

You’ll have a tree full of blessings. A reminder of faithfulness. A global (we’ll just use that loosely because it will include people outside of your own household) tree of Thanksgiving.

My girls are down there right now, filling that tree up. That’s warm and fuzzies to my soul.

I think we can easily get overwhelmed this time of year. The need to say ‘yes’ to all the things. The pressure to create picture perfect scenes. To buy the best and newest of things we don’t need. It’s all too much. Going back to a simple, easy, tangible reminder of the good stuff can be the trick to enjoying the holidays and not just holding on until they’re done.
