New Year New Room Challenge: Almost There!

Almost! One more week until I get to show you our laundry room / pantry area! I left off with this from last week. ***if you want to skip ahead the reveal is here!**

This week I got the rug from Home Dynamix. In the room plan I’ve been showing you, I have the Artisan area rug by Nicole Miller.

I realized before I ordered it that it didn’t come in a size small enough for the room. I ended up picking the Rutherford area rug in pink.

It’s super soft, I love the fringe at the ends and it fits perfectly in the space. I will say it’s a bit lighter in person.  Or maybe, there’s more white in it. Either way it looks great. This time of year I love having a warm rug to stand on instead of cold tile.

I installed the light and medallion this morning. I LOVE IT! It’s the Audrey light from Mitzi and Hudson Valley Lighting. My favorite thing…besides how beautiful it is, is this: The glass shade has a metal ring attached and it screws in to the black base. Why do I love that? I’m thinking that it will mean no pesky bugs can squeeze their way in and die. I can’t stand bugs in the bottom of a light. It happens though…but not with this beauty.

I ended up buying a bigger medallion than I had bought at first because I wanted it to show more.This 16″ is perfect.

I still have a ton of little things to do. I’m spray painting the lids of the square containers so that they look fresh and new. (only the outside. I know it’s not food safe)

I’m painting over the cream trim and door. And will add new hardware. I know how to do it now, remember?!

Next Tuesday is the reveal! Can’t wait to show it to you. Looks dreamy and that’s without the finishing touches.
